LOWER MOUNTAINS FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Our Patrons are Mr Phil Koperberg AO, Senator The Hon Doug Cameron, Trish Doyle MP.

We were  an Incorporated association  with NSW Fair Trading, now an unincorporated association.

We are a registered charity fundraising organisation with NSW Office of Liquor Gaming and Racing CFN/21814.

We conduct the Springwood Australia Day Festival. Why? We are mostly musicians and friends who wanted a great family day in Springwood and who better to raise funds for than the local Rural Fire Brigades?

CHARTER

The Lower Mountains Funraising Events Association is a not for profit  committee of volunteers who are dedicated to organizing fundraising charity events for various local organisations, groups or families in the lower mountains area who are seen to need support by the committee, especially the local RFS.

Events are for the general public and would usually involve bands, singers, dancers, circus performers etc in an indoor or outdoor concert  situation and may include food sales, BBQ etc , drinks and alcohol sales, raffles, bucket donation collections,  rides and stalls.
Some costs will be met from overall takings although the committee will seek assistance from sponsors willing to contribute funds to help with organisation costs when necessary, such as security, RSA staff, sound equipment hire etc  and assistance from venues willing to provide the facilities to conduct indoor and outdoor events.

Wherever possible the committee seeks performers, artists, service providers  etc who are willing to donate their time and equipment at no cost to enable the maximum return for the nominated charity or recipients for the day's event.

PAST EVENTS

Over the last few years the committee has conducted several events, starting with a fundraiser for the floods in Qld at the Royal Hotel Springwood. An event was held at the Winmalee Tavern in aid of a small village in Malawi in August 2012.  In March 2013 an event was held at the Royal Hotel Springwood to benefit the Rural Fire Service, especially  Winmalee RFS. This involved 2 stages with many artists involved.

Our Springwood Australia Day Festival is now an annual event. It involves 2 stages, many performers, dancers, bands, many rides, food stalls, markets stalls,  BBQ and refreshments bar. This is conducted at Springwood Public School with the assistance of the school and many generous sponsors, (see sponsors page).

Funds raised are for our local participating Rural Fire Service Brigades.

We have held annual Spring Festival Called "SPRINGTOPIA" on the first Saturday in September. Anja Nissen, our local winner of The Voice 2014, was one of the many who performed in the rain at Springtopia 2014. Springtopia 2015 was our last until we have sufficient keen enthusiastic members to make it feasable again.

Winmalee RFS Firetruck

On November 30th 2013 LMFE conducted "MUSIC on the MOUNTAIN", a fundraiser for victims of the recent devistating fires in Springwood, Yellow Rock and Winmalee.  Headline acts were Jeff Martin from Tea Party, Sarah Mcleod, Dawn, Owen Campbell and many more.

We  were rained out for our Springwood SPRING Festival called "SPRINGTOPIA"  Sept 6th 2014 and again at our Springwood Australia Day Festivals 2015, at the same venue. 2016 and 2017 saw crowds reach 2,500.

We were overdue for a fine day for our event, Springwood Australia Day Festival Jan 26th 2018.  What we got was an extremely hot sunny day that  kept the numbers down to around 2,000.
